Space Crazy: May 15, 2000

I first saw this map over at Planet Half-Life, I downloaded it and found it to be quite something.

This map looks really good... Brilliant use of textures through out the level with consistency... can't beat that.

On some levels you know that your in a base or a complex somewhere but your not quite sure where. With 'Space Crazy' you get that genuine feeling of "Your In Space mate."

The connectivity of the level is also quite well planned out. You can't really get trapped off somewhere with no ammo or gun to fight with. As normal you do have to pull of some manoeuvres to get to the bigger guns on the level but, placement of items and weapons it done very well.

The bit I like best about the level is the 'Airlock'. You can watch your enemy get lured into the Airlock by the Gluon Gun and stacks of ammo... then press the button and suck 'em out into the void of space. "HEH! Try breathing some hard vacuum mate!."

The level is quite small, but not too small. Barney has Balanced the placement of the items and weapons in the level to go very well with it size.

Attention has been paid when making this level, there are no jagged edges that you hang-up on when running from people with bigger guns and there is plenty of cover. Its quite a dark level and you could quite easily jump out on someone with out them even knowing you were there.

Top notch stuff! Get it now!

Summary:

A very good level... Well worth a look at for deathmatchers, developers and for people who run servers alike. Go suck your enemy's into the cold void of space!
